We as DoV see it as our main task to bundle your needs as doctoral candidates and to strengthen your rights. We will keep you up to date on our current projects and progress via email and here on the homepage. If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact us! <\/p>\n<\/jgu-base-heading>\n\n

We have drawn up a statement on the quality assurance concept<\/strong> for doctorates. This new set of regulations will set uniform standards that all regulations and procedures governing the doctorate must meet across the university. For example, we have campaigned for co-authors of cumulative doctoral dissertations to be admitted as evaluators for their own work. <\/p>\n<\/jgu-base-heading>\n\n

The topic of the need for networking during the doctoral phase comes up again and again, especially during the regulars’ tables – be it interdisciplinary or within one’s own faculty. We have currently conducted a survey among all doctoral candidates to find out how great the need is and which formats are desired. <\/p>\n<\/jgu-base-heading>\n\n

A Germany-wide doctoral student representation is currently being formed with the aim of being able to communicate the interests of doctoral students in nationwide discourses. We see a great opportunity in a cross-university association and are therefore involved in its development. <\/p>\n<\/jgu-base-heading>\n\n

The DoV seeks an exchange with politicians in order to bring the interests and needs of doctorates into the daily political discourse. This began in August with a meeting with Daniel Baldy, Member of the German Bundestag<\/a>. Topics during this and future planned meetings include the financial framework conditions for doctorates, the situation of scholarship students and the status of doctorates in the University Act. <\/p>\n<\/jgu-base-heading>\n\n

Teaching workload<\/strong> continues to be a focus of our work. In some subjects it is too high, so that the actual dissertation project takes a back seat, while in others you have to fight to gain experience in teaching. We want to work against both extremes. <\/p>\n\n
